I would counter that p2p models have in the public consciousness since Napster. Digital signatures have been in common usage in consumer tech since the 90's. An entire generation has grown up using these technologies. It's not unreasonable to talk about them.

One of the big problems in the world right now, is that huge companies like Google have gone out of their way to make technology easily accessible to non English speakers, and to English speakers in less developed regions, who didn't necessarily grow up with the technology and the jargon. In doing so, they have made a very paternalistic decision to "protect" or insulate end users from the technical jargon, for example by replacing detailed error messages with ever-increasingly more vague ones. Those practices are the real obstacle to raising awareness of any technical subject. The problem is most definitely not the people who ignore the principles of Google et al, and actually present technical language to the public.
You raise a good point regarding the language barrier. However English has been the lingua franca of the Internet. It's the language that standards and specifications are still written in. To properly grasp technical subjects at this time, you need to know a bit of English. That will probably (almost inevitably) change one day, but it hasn't changed yet; it's just the reality of the situation.
