I’m quite cautious with crypto and always do tests transactions regardless to the final amount I sent. This time I needed to transfer DOT to my Binance wallet. I went though the whole process and did a 1 DOT test transaction that never arrived.
After contacting support, they said to me the minimum amount for a transaction is 1.05 DOT. Indeed, it seems I made a mistake and did not meet the minimum requirement. While mentioning this error, I asked if they could credit my Binance wallet… and the nonsense begun.
At first, they claimed that the asset never arrived at Binance. I sent them the transaction on Polkadot Subscan that shows the successful transaction. After some quite long “security checking” with many questions, they said my Binance wallet might be credited. Fine! But 2 minutes later, nope. Actually, the 1.05 DOT is the minimum amount “to be processed” and any asset below this amount, is “just here”. Just here for what or how long, I didn’t manage to get any clear answer. Ultimately, they informed me that my 1 DOT could not be recovered, and the discussion ended.
In essence, I sent 1 DOT to Binance and for a 0.05 error, Binance is holding my crypto for whatever reason they can’t even explain to me. Basically, stole. I have surely made a mistake but damn, what the heck is that unprofessional behavior and that lack of consideration toward your customer?
