How much money do you think does the average person invest in crypto (Google says around 1000$)? And if a lot of "average people" decide to sell does it even affect the market?
I wonder how much money it takes to even move the price of bitcoin with the market cap being this big. And when you see those giant dumps or pumps there has to be an incredible amount of money moving at once. But who is doing it?
There is an estimated 106 million people using crypto (sources Google search). So let's say 10 million people sell maybe 1000$ at once that's "only" 10 billion (IF all sell at once). The bitcoin market cap is ~680 billion atm ... what I want to say is this would barley move the marketcap and considering the 24h volume of money moving (in bitcoin atm) is 39 billion I wonder if us "average people" having paperhands even matters. Or am I underestimating the herd mentality and the amount invested by the average crypto people and literally more then 10 million people are selling at once when some news come out.
TLDR Are we just plankton to the whales haha?
Just my thoughts. Is my thinking wrong? Am I missing something? Tell me what you think. (Probably some typos and bad grammar, sry in advance kind human)
