Can we be honest with ourselves about NFTs - a net damage to what Crypto is about, and a distraction to what we should be spotlighting

Let me start by saying have been in the space for about 10y now. Have been through many cycles, seen many innovations and many scams and generally can see when the community are self destructive and when productive. Not all NFTs are scams or not genuine in purpose, some really do have value as collectibles and as utility (ENS, Uniswap v3).

But NFTs have created a huge stain on crypto because when we are honest with ourselves they serve to only try make money. And the general population are coming to associate Crypto with NFTs and see through the bs most here have self convinced are value. We need to stop promoting these hollow assets and uses just because they are getting easy attention and funds for the space and promote the more useful and overlooked tech that many are creating.

We should show people how to use Uniswap, buy an index, transfer usdc for payments, use ENS, use tornado, and just try the tools that may actually impact people.

We are allowing the space to become filled with bs that will damage the overall future for what we have been spending the last 12y creating.

This isn't some proposal to turn off OpenSea or NFTs or cancel Metakovan. Just a proposal to everyone, individually to stop promoting a weaker use case that when we are honest with ourselves isn't that strong a use case, to showcase the harder to show and understand but more impactful.

Dont let Crypto become a joke to make an easy pay day.
