Woke Up to a Christmas Crypto Miracle

You don’t have to lurk very far on this sub to find posts like “Don’t tell ANYONE irl about your crypto holdings” or “My regrets talking my friend/family into buying crypto” et cetera.

Yeah, well, I didn’t take that advice. Getting into crypto currency has been a bit of a personal revolution for me in learning and maturing in my financial well being. I’m the type of person where if I find out something interesting or useful I’ll try to tell everyone around me. That’s exactly whatI’ve been doing with crypto. In my mind, we are in a modern day gold rush and I’ve spent the past few months trying to wake up my friends and family to get in on it! If you’re like me, then you already know how this goes. Most have responded to my excitement with the usual FUD, thinking I’m in some sort of scam or whatever. My female friends saying crypto is too much of a “boys club”, or that they think it’s bad for the environment (as if our current system isn’t…) My well-meaning but boomer parents were the most turns off by it. My mom even said that crypto scared her, and that she wasn’t “meant” to have much money anyway. I’ve learned so much about people’s psychology by discussing money and investments with them, it’s fascinating. In the end very few have actually been interested so I’ve learned not to waste my breath anymore. My investments are for me, anyway.

So imagine my surprise when I wake up this Christmas morning to a notification from Coinbase. $300 USDT sent to me from a random address. Was this some kind of weird promotion? Am I being scammed somehow? That’s when my phone rings.

“Mom???”

“Did you get your Christmas present?” I can tell she’s grinning ear to ear by the sound of her voice.

The same woman who just a few weeks ago was trembling in her boots has now figured out crypto wallets, stable coins, and transfers. She laughed when she said she had some “help”, but I’m still seriously impressed. She’s always making me proud man.

So that’s my little slice of Christmas miracle. I told my mom that I’ll do my best to turn her $300 into thousands. Anyone got any tips on how to do that? Haha

Last thing, this sub speaks pretty definitively on certain subjects but remember to always take its advice with a dose of salt. Sometimes it pays off to take risks or go against the grain. You could end up pleasantly surprised, like me, with the results.
