Will decentralized Ethereum-based projects create a more fair and transparent gaming ecosystem, or will they further empower the current giants of the gaming industry?

One of the most exciting aspects of web3 gaming is the potential to create a more fair and transparent gaming ecosystem. By leveraging blockchain technology, it's possible to create decentralized gaming platforms that are free from the centralized control of big gaming companies.

We can notice the beginnings of this right now, with many new projects basing the worth of their cryptocurrency and NFTs on Ethereum, while developing separate, decentralized ecosystems. This means that each of these projects will have its own independent and transparent financial system, instead of relying on the centralized one mainly controlled by the big players. If we add smart contracts that would ground the worth of people's investments in Ethereum, I believe the result would be a more fair and transparent gaming ecosystem with equal opportunities for everyone - both developers and players.

Some Ethereum-based projects that are going in the right direction and that may revolutionize the way we understand gaming in general (and perhaps destroy the dogma that gaming is "a waste of time" by allowing people to build an income by playing games) are NFT City Miner, Aavegotchi, and The Sandbox. I can't wait to see what the future brings for them, and for crypto gaming in general.
