Apologies if this hit you in the wrong way, that's not the intent of this post in any way. So the transition of Ethereum from a proof-of-work network to become a proof-of-stake network has been one of the biggest news in the crypto industry for several weeks and still counting.
Yes, I understand that the Ethereum network holds a number of dapps and crypto projects like the Toklok token and several others. I do also understand that being a PoS network would mean increased efficiency in terms of energy usage.
But it has also been said that his transition or should I say the first few phases of this transition would have absolutely no effect in raising the price of ETH and it also would not lower the Ethereum gas fees.
So all of these got me thinking about how the Merge is so much of a big deal to the average investor who only see ETH as a financial investment tool.
