Hello everyone,
In relation to the ongoing conversation about salaries or compensation of core developers, I was hoping someone could shed some light on the Ethereum Foundation's payroll structure.
How many people are employed by EF, who's getting paid, how well are employees getting paid, are anyone working but not taking a salary?
Danny has shared an idea on Twitter about DAOs contributing some percentage tokens to Ethereum developers, which isn't a terrible idea, but it leaves the impression that people might be underpaid and I can't be alone in thinking EF should pay its employees an amazing salary for all their hard work and not rely on donations.
Is there anything that prevents EF from offering a competitive salary? Or are employees in fact already well paid, but just not on the level as you might be in private organizations?
I realize this can be a touchy subject, but the intention isn't to pry or shame anyone, just looking to gain a better understanding and have a conversation about the topic.
