What's the most misunderstood aspect about Bitcoin?

I've heard a lot of "facts" about BTC, such as It's going to suck our planet dry, 50% of transactions are illegal, etc. What's something ridiculous you've heard or used to think?

Some friends and family have come around a bit because they've asked me questions and got to learn. I'm not the most intelligent, but if they had a question I couldn't answer, then I'd probably search it with them. It's important to stomp the misconstrued information.
