I have seen a few posts lately regarding how jaredfromsubway.eth and plenty of other bots are using MEV bots to execute sandwich attacks on unsuspecting traders in the defi space.
Imo, this is a big problem in crypto and one that can and will be solved in future upgrades. But what can you do now???
Well for one, you can set your metamask RPC endpoint to a friendly MEV blocking RPC. Here is a good one you can use to get setup:
MEV Blocker is a special RPC endpoint that ensures your trades are protected from MEV. It does this by sending your transaction to a network of searchers that scan for backrunning opportunities, but cannot frontrun or sandwich your trades. MEV blocker protects from most kinds of frontrunning, but especially from trade sandwiching, which is when a searcher trades just before and just after your transaction to make a profit.
You can manually add this RPC to metamask for Ethereum Network:
Network Name - MEV Blocker (Ethereum Mainnet)
New RPC URL - https://rpc.mevblocker.io
Chain ID - 1
Currency Symbol- ETH
Block Explorer URL - https://etherscan.io
Everyone should do this and use this when execute a swap/trade in defi!
