I was curious so I looked up historically when the best month to buy BTC was over the last 10-12 years source
It looks like the summer (I live in North America) is when BTC tends to be down more than the rest of the year with the worst statistical month being September, followed by August, then June (July is the 5th worst month). What is the 4th worst month for BTC performance? January.
January has an average BTC gain of 7.59% from 2011-2022 but has had 5/11 months be in the red. I feel like January of 2023 can be another red January given continued inflation issues, supply chain, etc.
TL:DR: BTC is a mixed bag in January historically speaking. If youβve been on the sidelines, maybe layer in as thereβs still potential for a red start to the new year.
