Wallet recommendations and storing private keys

Hey! I haven't followed the latest development in crypto. I used to log in to MyEtherWallet using my private key to send ETH/tokens, which I know is not the most secure way to access my ETH and tokens.

  1. What are the current best practices?
  2. What's the recommended local/web wallet and ways of accessing them? Wiki on this subreddit seems to be locked.
  3. Where do you store your private keys except pen & paper? Do you feel comfortable storing them in password managers like 1Password/Bitwarden?

Thanks!
