Use exchanges securely so you wont expose yourself to threats.

I'll use Binance as an example, as it is the #1 exchange by trading volume & it will apply to most. I assume it's a post just for newbies, recommendations to avoid getting scammed.

You should always use the security features of an exchange, Google Authenticator, Phone Verification, Email Verification, Biometric Authentication (when using iOS/Android App), that will minimize by a lot the chance of someone logging in with your account, or getting funds out of your account, as the exchange will require 2AF confirmations for those actions to be executed.

Visualization of 2AF options.

Use Withdrawal Whitelist, that means that you will put the addresses that your account can withdraw crypto from the exchange, as most of the time a hacker/scammer will try to transfer crypto out to his wallet, if he gets access, somehow to your account. Adding new address to Whitelist takes a confirmation from all the above 2AF verification methods at the same time, and even if you add a new address it takes 24 hours to get activated as an withdrawal option.

Similar option should be in your profile.

When you are contacting a support always use the official website and avoid being redirected to the site via a link someone provided you, as it can be a "copy-paste" of the genuine site to steal your information. You can get there by Google, by a bookmark you saved, or directly typing the domain in the browser. You can always double check the domain in the bar. ????????

Support button example, it will probably be different for other exchanges.

For your notification emails from the exchange, set up and Anti-Phishing Code that will help you filtering the real mail from the fake ones, and you would not have to worry about it, when you receive a sketchy mail. I'm seeing many asking in social if what they received it's real or not, making themselves even more of a target, form scammers lurking at those web sites.

Will look something like that & you will set a word or sentence that will be under mails received from the exchange.

Example of how to check received mails integrity:

A fake mail notification that is trying to make you interact with it and try to stole your information.

An genuine mail for some news or activity from the exchange, showing your Anti-Phishing Code that you have set.

Also check the mail that came from, genuine mail will probably have the icon of the exchange and the mail will and with their domain name.

Scammers mail... I think it doesn't need explanation, but this can be covered much better in some case from the phishers, so the Anti-Phishing Code helps with that.

All those steps are mandatory to not get hacked by keyloggers, screen recorders, work or public network exploits etc. and to not get targeted by social engineering from phishers/scammers.

Thanks for your time, I wish a prosper & secure trading for everyone! ????
