US Government Sold 9,800 BTC on March 14, Intends to Sell a Further 41,500 BTC Connected to Silk Road in Four Batches Over the Course of the Year

The US Government has begun liquidating Bitcoin that it has confiscated in from the Silk Road, according to the Ross Ulbricht case.

On March 14, 2023, the Government sold 9,861 (of the total 51,351BTC) for a total of $215,738,154.98.

There remains approximately 41,490 BTC, which the Government is expected to liquidate in four more batches over the course of this calendar year.
