True beginner needs help!

I'm a young woman in her early 20s, and I'm very new to crypto. My cousin is really into trading and he's convinced me to buy ethereum. He just showed me how to do it via Venmo because he thought that would be the easiest platform for me. Is it safe though? Is there a better user-friendly platform I should use?

I truly know nothing about investing beyond the basics. What do I need to know to make money? Right now I'm only investing $200, just to start small and learn the ropes. I have a little extra money and I'd like to learn!
