With increasing congestion on the bitcoin network, CEXs are pushing BTC withdrawals with ridiculously high fees which are not explicitly shown before the user confirms withdrawal.
I've been monitoring the transaction fees on the bitcoin network since i've got a transaction stuck in the mempool for over 24 hours now. While I just checked the fees again for possibly the 100th time since yesterday, I noticed this transaction where someone paid a network fee of about $15 to move $0.15. This is likely a case of someone getting burnt while withdrawing from a CEX and why i thought a reminder would be appropriate since very few people bother checking beyond the fee that the exchanges charge for withdrawals, especially for something like bitcoin.
mempool.space is among the best tools out there for such purposes.
