Hey all,
I created a dataset back in March 2021 of all of the available Bitcoin to fiat lenders in the market. I never ended up loaning out my Bitcoin but from time to time I see posts here from people envisioning how, in the future, they'll lend out their Bitcoin as collateral for fiat. Perhaps this will someday become a common and safe practice but perhaps the following data could serve as a reminder of the concept of "counterparty risk".
I do wonder, how many of these companies are still in business... I know that the two big ones I was considering (Celsius and Nexo) are bankrupt but haven't had time to do further analysis.
Anyway, here's the data and I hope someone finds it helpful. Note that I had to remove URL's as this post wasn't getting past Reddit's content filters.
