That one skip that always bites later

I bought into something new a few years back without even glancing at the contract. Seemed fine on the surface, volume looked decent, and I told myself I'd check later. By the time I did, the dev wallet had already moved most of the supply and the thing was sliding fast. The loss wasn't huge, but it was the kind that sticks because it was avoidable with five minutes of looking. Since then I make the same slow check on anything that isn't a blue chip, even when the chart is screaming at me to hurry. Doesn't stop every bad call, but it cuts the really stupid ones. Anyone else still catch themselves wanting to skip the obvious step when momentum feels strong?
