Stop being a toximalist

Sorry for the -almost- click bait title.

I want to expose a though running in my head for a while.

A few days ago I joined a Twitter space of people talking about Bitcoin. I asked a question to discuss about how would our world work if Bitcoin were the main currency (in other words, if our dream became reality).

Nowadays we pay taxes, for example, to have free healthcare (I'm from Europe) or to keep our roads in good condition, or to help poor people. This might or might not be true but as far as I can see there is actually some kind of economical help, at least here in Europe.

Let's keep this simple: today our roads are maintained by our government with the money every one must pay. With Bitcoin we would probably know if this is true since every transaction is clearly visible on the Blockchain by everyone. So, if I pay a tax to a wallet I can see where my taxes goes.

The key point is how could a government be sure you are paying the right taxes?

People oh this Twitter space said that I should study Bitcoin more to understand that bitcoin is born to "fight" government, and it's true but who would maintain roads if not paid? One solution would be that someone privately own a roads and who wants to use that road must pay a fee. But what if I can't pay that fee? Also, what if there are many roads owners? Should I pay fees to many owners?

I know this post might be controversial but saying that no one should pay fees as many maximalist says is utopic. Living in a society means that everyone has to do his part. This is true for Bitcoin too, every transaction costs a fee that a miner earns to do his job. Otherwise, no miners would mine and Bitcoin would simply die.

Edit: sorry if my explanation is not that good, English is not my main language, I can understand English well but I'm not that good at writing/speaking.

Also, don't get angry and instead of telling me that I should study Bitcoin more explain you point of view as I just have done. If we want Bitcoin to become THE currency we need to find solutions. Bitcoin is not the solution, Bitcoin is the tool to find solutions.
