Stake with Ledger

Hi,

I have about 3 ETH I want to stake for the next year or so. They're currently sitting on a Ledger hw wallet, due to the high gas fees I'm hesitant to move them anywhere else atm. If anything I'd move them back to a CEX, which I'd prefer not to.

Does anyone have recommendations on staking these Coins? Ledger promote staking them with Stader Labs or Lido, providing Eigenlayer points (which I don't really understand), however I am somewhat wary.

Should I stick to staking them through RocketPool (which is as safe as smart contracts like that can get, right?), as it also seems to be the better option regarding decentralization.

Seeing as gas fees are around 50 USD right now, I'm also contemplating just sending them back to the CEX, and staking through Kraken. I'm planning to DCA out of my crypto holdings starting in the latter half of 2024 anyways. They don't seem to offer much worse staking rewards, and for the limited time period I'd take the risk of handing over my coins to them.

My concerns are that I wouldn't get rewards over 200-300 USD in the next year anyways, and gas fees for swapping twice to rETH and then send them back to the exchange would significantly eat at the returns, making staking somewhat pointless. I'm assuming gas fees won't go down anytime soon, especially with a possible bull run "looming" on the horizon!
