Some advice for people new to community points

With all the hubbub around the recent Reddit ToS change and the good news it means for community points, I figured there's some information specifically about moons that could be useful to newer folks here on r/cc:

While you can certainly blast the subreddit with comments everywhere, in my experience it's the insightful and/or funny comments that tend to get the most upvotes. So, if you want to earn moons, rather than spamming every single post with little quick things just so you can try to get your foot into the conversation, you should instead focus on trying to make comments that you would likely upvote, had they been made by someone else.

In the spirit of that, apply this same line of thinking to links you submit. Is it something you would likely upvote/comment on? Then go ahead and submit it. Is it something you would likely ignore, or something you don't think people would find all that interesting? Then don't submit it.

More than anything, be aware of CCIP-30, which dictates if you transfer more than 25% of your earned moons, the ratio at which you earn future moons will be cut down to .1. You'll have to either earn or buy your way back to ratio. The way I deal with this is every time we get a distribution, I calculate 25% of what I earned, subtract 15-30 moons (just to build in a buffer for the ratio and give me room for tipping), and transfer the rest of what I calculated to a different wallet. That way, I know I can sell/swing trade the moons in that other wallet without worrying about keeping my ratio intact.

Lastly, be sure to check out https://cclimits.onrender.com/ so you can see which topics are at the limit in the top 50 in the subreddit, and also check out https://ccmoons.com/ for a bunch of different information about moons in your account (and in general.) Be sure to send u/ominous_anenome some love for all his work on it!
