[SERIOUS] How does one go about buying used goods online with cryptocurrency?

Hello all,

I want to buy some gear from a guy on reddit.

I said I could pay in cryptocurrency but dont know how to conduct a secure transaction. I obviously cant just send the funds to their wallet and pray that my item arrives.

There needs to be some middle man that can guarantee my item will be shipped

I usually use paypal 'goods and services' for this kind of stuff, and that service (but for cyrpto) is what im looking for.
