There are various types of scams in the cryptocurrency industry and they all have the objective to steal something from the ones who fall for them, sometimes crypto doesn't need to be stolen for something to be a complete scam.
There is a type of scam that doesn't involve taking cryptocurrencies from someone, it only involves stealing time and skills from someone. There are scammers who disguise themselves as a known, legit company to hire people. They promise payment for any type of work that they require but they can not pay and promise a payment in cryptocurrencies, they go even further as to send a little amount of crypto to the person that it's being scammed to make them think that they are legit. After the job is done and delivered the person who got scammed will never hear from these scammers again and won't receive any payment.
This can also be done in a form of a legit looking website that will give tasks and orders for someone to do, which will accumulate payments but when the person tries to withdraw they will notice that it can't be done and all the time spent doing those tasks went to waste.
This is a very frustating scam as many people are looking for freelance crypto jobs and they can be scammed for their time, this time would be better applied on doing something profitable for them.
It's important to always check if the job you are applying to comes from a legit place and if the website is the one from the company you are applying to and not just a well done copy. Unfortunately scammers take advantage of everything to achieve their goal and everyone is susceptible to them.
