Safer bridging on Polkadot through DIA oracles

DIA has developed an oracle that introduces on-chain verification of bridge balances across multiple chains to enable safer and more transparent usage of bridges in the Polkadot ecosystem.

The so-called Bridge Attestation Oracle is a mechanism enabling on-chain verification of bridge balances across multiple chains. This oracle provides essential data feeds, like "Proof-of-Collateral," allowing dApps to initiate automated safety protocols if a bridge's balance decreases unexpectedly.

This solution comprises various core components, including an off-chain worker to monitor bridge states, a token identification system to match tokens across chains, and a standard integration format for future bridges. Leveraging Polkadot's features, the technology stack is written in Rust programming language and utilizes pallets and off-chain workers.

Key components include:

• Off-chain worker: Used to retrieve bridge token balances and assess the collateralization ratio of each token.
• Community-driven bridge integrations: An open-source library allowing anyone to create adaptors for different bridges, aiming for decentralization and community-driven development.
• Bridge Attestation Oracle (Collateral Value): Monitors bridge collateralization across multiple chains, providing data for protocols to automate actions or trigger alerts if safety thresholds are breached.
