Reddit has shown through their new policy that they want to kill 3rd party apps.
Reddit is also pushing NFTs and has successfully integrated community points in some subreddits.
Yet, the decentralization pushed forward by web3 actors and the lack of discussion with the users shows that the web3 understanding of reddit is biased.
To integrate blockchain tech here and there is not enough. While discussing profitability is clearly necessary, we should try to find a way to push reddit towards profitability without killing 3rd party apps.
Decentralization of decision making through an ICO and the creation of the Reddit DAO would be better than the IPO Comming up.
In the end, we are neatly poised to see a web3 reddit rival with tokenized Karma allowing users to vote on policy polls emerge in the near future.
Reddit has the advantage of being already here but it seems that their are squandering the enormous opportunity they have created for themselves.
