question about slippage on Base

hi guys trying to work out what just happened, this is the first time ive been messing around with low liqidity shitcoins so no experience

i hit a 12x profit on $DEGEN which is a token on Base, its a farcaster thing

Saw a tweet from someone saying how its FDV is over a billion and theres only 17m liquidity. that sounds bad to my smol brain but idk. so thought i should lock in some profits.

used the normal setting on uniswap and it failed. change slippage to 2% and got a warning that could be front run. but i thought Base has a central sequencer so theres no MEV? it went through and i lost about 10% lol. and i only sold about $700 worth

dont care too much cos am well in profit. i will leave the rest to ride but need to know more about whats happening here, in case it goes higher and i want to sell at a later date
