Nikos Klidonis, a 46 years old programmer from Greece, disappeared on Monday 28 August, from Koropi where he lived alone. It seems that something suddenly took him out of his house because all his personal belongings were found on the table along with the food he had not touched.

The last person to see him was his mother who described him as "scared and upset".His friend who "was the only one he trusted" referred to a significant amount of money Nick had in bitcoin. His statement about what the missing man allegedly told him before he went missing was surprising.

"He had told me that if anything happened to him I should ask his mother for the bitcoin keys."A female neighbor who knew him very well told that he had been particularly anxious lately and that someone was threatening him. The information that Nikos Klidonis had reported something serious to the authorities that was happening that put his life in danger caused a stir. The testimony was confirmed by his friend who saw him a week before he disappeared.

"He was terribly scared..."The day he disappeared, his mother had gone to his house to see him and everything was turned upside down.

"I open the door, walk in and see him in the hallway. He was wild and terribly scared. I left for a while and when I came back he was gone. I waited for hours, saw he wasn't coming and left a note for him to call me. I came home and the next day and Nick hadn't returned. I called him again and I'm still calling but he hasn't answered..."

"I was the only one he trusted..."His friend said the last time he saw him was about five days before he disappeared. Nick had been visiting his home and "was generally stressed. Someone called him on the phone and then he was in a hurry to leave," he said.

"I'm afraid they killed him"

"I believe it is someone from the area who must have been threatening/extorting him."

"He didn't tell us anything to figure out why he's afraid. That's why I told his mother when he went missing to go to the police. Too much of a mystery, suddenly disappearing like that" his friend said...

The great fortune in cryptocurrencies...Nikos' mother spoke about something that happened after his disappearance.

"One day I was leaving here, from the house, and just as I turned into the street, a car pulled up next to me and it was his friend. I was on my way to another area and he suggested that he give me a ride. On the way he told me to be careful not to lose the "usb sticks" because Nick had a large amount in them. He talked about millions. I told him there was no way he had that amount and he said he had seen it. There's nothing in the house. Everything has been handed over to the police."

A few days before his disappearance he wanted to make an anonymous complaint about a gang that was ransacking the area he lived in.

"He knew a lot, but because he feared for his life he wanted to make the complaint anonymously, giving names and addresses to the authorities," said a witness

In a TV interview his best friend said that Nick had been involved since the early days of bitcoin and that he planned to liquidate a very large amount and probably talked to the wrong people...

Unfortunately he was found dead on Saturday 4 November. The objects found at the scene were identified by his own mother...

My thoughts... Security and privacy begins and ends with ourselves...
