When I took a deep dive into crypto 4 years ago, I really thought real world adoption was right around the corner. And sure, there are some Bitcoin ATMs or the occasional business that will accept Bitcoin. But even in big modern cities, you don't usually stumble upon these places. They are still very rare.
There are millions of people interested in crypto and market cap is measured in Trillions of USD. So why don't we have coffee shops (as an example) all over the world where we can pay with Bitcoin as easily as Apple Pay?
It just seems like a low-hanging fruit that would be good for everyone.
- good for business owners, who would be supported by crypto fans
- good for crypto HODLers who have less reason to convert to USD
- good for normies who can see real world use cases
Are we still missing some tech advancement to make this easy to do? Is it gov't regulation that is holding things up? Or am I mistaken and most people don't want or need this future?
