Well, let me introduce you to a project that brings this idea to life: Parallel.

Parallel is a sci-fi franchise releasing a trading card game in March. The story of Parallel focuses on five different factions of humans and their struggle to survive after a cataclysmic event that alters planet Earth forever. Fast forward thousands of years into the future and a war between these five factions breaks out when they vie for the control of Earth. The five factions are known as Parallels, each one surviving and flourishing in their own way.
