My boss bought Bitcoin because of me

My boss and I generally have a good relationship. We often talk about about our personal lives to each other, and this is where I realised I messed up.

Last week I casually mentioned to him that I had recently made some good gains on some crypto I was invested in, so I’m gonna use my profits to take a trip away next month.

He said he always sees people making money from crypto but has never bought any, but I “convinced him to buy some”. I told him that he shouldn’t buy any just because of what I told him and he just kind of laughed it off.

When I came in today, he called me over and told me that he’d put £15k into Bitcoin and was “counting on me”.

I’ve only been at this job three months, and I know £15k would have been a large chunk of his savings (he overshares).

Do I just look for a new job? If his investment tanks he’s gonna blame me and probably fire me anyway.
