This is for old timers, but wondering if anyone remembers the SETI@Home program? They would use distributed computing to process telescope data. I remember looking for other projects and it's from this I learned about a new thing called bitcoin. So instead of processing telescope data or cancer research you could "mine" for coins.
I still have some bitcoin but it isn't a primary component of my portfolio. But have been doing some reading and felt a bit nostalgic. Anyone know what the hell I'm talking about?
