This time I sat down in one of the co-founders of Horizon, a web3 startup that created a set of tools designed to help game devs integrate on-chain data into their games.
They even built Unity and Unreal engine SDKs that allows game devs to query EVM compatible chains straight from the game engine.
A bit chunk of the heavy lifting that this solution does is a lot of the backend blockchain infrastructure stuff that, if executed well is invisible in a game. For instance, making sure that each player's inventory is actually a non-custodial wallet behind the scenes, or ensuring that player items have are owner by the player NFT.
I've been saying for a long time now that game devs need to start experimenting with crypto and it's great to see that there are people out there building the infrastructure for it.
Anyway, if you'd like to listen to the conversation, here's a youtube link: https://youtu.be/N0JLSUUUXKU
I'm always looking for more people to share their project and come talk about it on my podcast so do let me know it you'd like to come on :)
