Hot off the press, it's been officially confirmed that litecoins MWEB privacy feature is locked in. Here is the tweet from Charlie Lee, litecoins creater conforming: https://twitter.com/SatoshiLite/status/1521370708105859073?s=20&t=b6_-_qdhE_753tBswDk7EQ
MWEB is an optional privacy feature, that amongst other things allows the user to hide the amount of crypto being transferred and the crypto address itself.
This is a major development in the privacy space for a couple of reasons. Firstly Litecoin is easily accessible, available on many exchanges allowing users ease of access when using the privacy feature. Secondly because the privacy feature is optional it allows exchanges to opt out if regulation becomes an issue.
This is clever because it means that Litecoin will not have some of the regulatory concerns that Monero currently faces.
Now I completely understand that Monero is the king of privacy. I am not for a second mentioning that Litecoin will replace it. I am simply saying that if all the user wishes to do is to hide their address and crypto amount, then litecoin is perfect because of how accessible it is and cheap to use. Monero has it's own uses. Litecoin is a coin that is intended to supplement cryptocurrencies, not replace them.
Did I mention that Litecoin has 100 percent uptime 10 years straight?
Make what you want of this historical moment, all I know is that once it's up and running litecoin will be VERY attractive to transact in.
Take note, litecoin is BACK.
