If someone hacks your exchange account and steals your cryptocurrency, treat it like it's gone forever. People are posting links that claim they can "recover" your stolen cryptocurrency, but they want to steal even more money from you to capitalize on you

If your cryptocurrency is stolen it is 99.999999% gone forever.

There are only a few niche cases where a "hack" or, rather, a large-scale theft takes place and then the funds are recovered. Those are usually settled between the hacker or exploiter and the people who run a large exchange or cryptocurrency project (like the polygon hack) or the Mango exploit we saw a few weeks ago.

If a user posts a link and says, "You can recover your cryptocurrency on this website" then those guys are scammers that are trying to capitalize on your sense of desperation to steal even more money from you.

And, as always, this goes without saying, ignore your direct messages if you post about a hack or losing money or if you need help getting money out of a defunct exchange. People who really genuinely want to help you have no reason to send you a direct message, and will gladly post about recovery methods in a thread that you make.

Stay safe out there, guys.
