I just called my bank to query why they’ve declined a crypto transaction when i'm well within my advised limit (UK)

Following receiving a text from my bank (RBS) a week ago I've been DCA'ing as usual with no limit as the threshold they said they would allow doesn't really apply to me as I am simply krill. After trying to add funds to my Binance account, I have somehow exceeded my limit which is in place to protect customers. I definitely haven't added £1k per day or £5k in the 30 day period as advised in the original text.

I queried to what the time frame and amount of this limit actually is. They replied “We do not discuss limits to the general population.” I asked if there were any limits in place to protect customers from gambling addictions to which she replied I’m unaware.

It was very clear that they have been informed of the new crypto rules but had no idea of any rules in place for actual gambling. As I didn't want to take my frustration out on the poor girl. I made a complaint regarding my situation and left it at that. My conclusion, the banks are shitting themselves right now.

It's time to change bank.
