 | Hello again fellow cryptocurrency enthusiasts!! I haven't posted since Round 22, so I thought I'd provide an update. TL;DR: Both subreddit activity and new user growth have continued to decrease over the last several months. Moons are the ERC-20 community token of the r/CryptoCurrency subreddit and are distributed every 4 weeks to Contributors who create content, post comments, etc. The Moons earned during the distribution round are derived from the karma earned by the Contributor during that time. As many here already know, there have now been 25 rounds of Moons distributions! I analyzed the number of karma recipients per Moon distribution round. Karma recipient number in rounds 23-25 continued along its previous downward trend. Recipient number decreased from ~42k in Round 22 to ~29k in Round 25, meaning that user interaction within the subreddit is in decline. An overlay of the BTC Price suggests that activity on this sub follows general crypto market trends. The rise of karma recipient number from June 2020 to June 2021 follows growth of BTC/USD during that time with a ~2 month delay. The recent decrease in karma recipient number during the last six distributions also appears to match the recent decrease of BTC/USD from November ATH. The total number of contributors that have received subreddit karma at any point in time since Moon Inception is still increasing. This means that new users who have not contributed prior to Round 25 are still joining the subreddit and earning Moons, although this has decreased a lot in the last few Rounds. The Top graph shows that Total number of Contributors that have earned karma since Moon Inception as a function of Distribution Round. Overall, 300,000 users have earned at least 1 karma in the subreddit since the first distribution round. The Bottom graph shows the number of New Contributors during each distribution round. While this has declined substantially during the last 10 Moon distribution rounds, there were still 5252 users that earned Moons in Round 25 who had never earned Moons previously.
