Sam Bankman-Fried’s trial is an unmitigated disaster for him. I have been following it every day and they have him dead to rights. When all of you’re closest executives plead guilty and agree to testify, guaranteeing at least a 5-10 prison for themselves, there’s almost no way to just disregard that.
So, realistically, how many years will he get? People compare it to the Madoff sentence, but the 150 year sentence in that case was mainly for show as he was 70 and a 20 year sentence would have ensured he died in prison. This is much more similar to Elizabeth Holmes.
I’d put my money on 15-20. However, he didn’t take a plea deal, so the sentence could be MUCH worse. But I’ve seen anywhere from 10 to life. What do y’all think?
