How do you solve this problem without centralization?

I would really like a blockchain enthusiast to explain how buying a GPU with bitcoin is any safer for the buyer than putting money inside an envelope, sending it through the mail, and expecting an RTX 3090 to arrive as a result. The blockchain only guarantees the money arrives, nobody is ever forced to send the product back.
Every response I receive about the subject runs around centralizing the process and making sure a "trustful certificate authority" can either guarantee the seller is trusted or cancel the transaction by being an intermediate mean. That's just centralized.

Please don't downvote, I'm really looking for an answer to learn about it, so I can actually defend it properly, when asked, and I know you can easily just dump my karma into the negatives. You know how reddit can be sometimes.
