Just to put things straight right away, I don’t think Loopring is necessary BAD, I just think it’s unrealistically overhyped. Until Loopring develops its own EVM compatible vm, it’s literally just a DEX. Polygon on the other hand is way more EVM compatible.
So far Loopring has been a “wait for more development and you’ll see” kind of project that isn’t contributing to the Ethereum ecosystem nearly as much as Polygon is.
Polygon is a completely functional network with more than 10,000 dApps on board, a lot of which are of very high quality. This offers A LOT more value to the Ethereum network and community and invites more and more builders to Ethereum.
Polygon is an overall way more versatile projects that Ethereum can actually benefit from. It has one of the most diverse ecosystems on the market and can still help Ethereum with traffic just as good as Loopring can.
The only difference is that Loopring is strictly an L2 and thats it. Nothing more nothing less. So I just hate it when some supporters tend to over exaggerate how amazing of a project Loopring really is. Its not a leader in any sector in the market nor has it innovated anything new so far.
