The site in questions is "basicminers.com"
My girlfriend's mom just called her to tell her about this great opportunity that her brother showed her where she could double her investment in 4 days and she wanted help navigating the deposit process. Clearly a scam, but she was insistent, saying her brother had allegedly already done it and gotten money back. Luckily, my girlfriend flagged me down to ask me because she had a bad feeling about what her mom was telling her and was advising her not to do it, but wasn't trusting her judgement. I was the reason she began investing in crypto, so my word, I guess carried more weight. It appears I've gotten her to hold off. I hope I've sown enough doubt in her to keep her from risking her money despite her brother and co-workers claiming they've seen returns.
Looking into the site, there's NO information about the site anywhere that I could find aside from the site itself and one website claiming it was 58% likely it was a scam. The domain was registered in November of 2021; Extremely sketchy. I presume it's one of those sites that gets you to invest a little money, gives you a return to bait you and the when you deposit the farm, your money disappears.
Just wanted to share a personal anecdote and an FYI to those of us on here green enough to think something like this is real.
