Friends & Family - Are they aware of your crypto investments and how do you discuss it?

As the title suggests, are any of your friends or family aware of your investments in the crypto space? If so, how do you deal with the crypto conversation?

For me personally, only my parents and a few close friends know that I take an interest (they're certainly not aware of the % of my portfolio that crypto makes up lol).

It can be tough to avoid telling people that you're invested. Not because I think that there's money to be made, but because I genuinely believe in the future of crypto.If someone I know asks me about it, I'll have a discussion with them. But I'll never tell then what to buy, or when to buy/sell as I truly believe that for someone to be invested in crypto, they need to go down the rabbit hole themselves. Will I try to point them in the right direction? Sure, but even then, my own bias comes into play.

If I just tell someone to buy * insert coin here * because the banks are gonna collapse or its about to explode, one of two situations could occur - 1. Crypto goes up - they complain that you didn't help them early enough 2. Crypto goes down - they complain that they wish you never told them

In either situation, they end up resenting you for it and you potentially lose those around you. We know that people love to avoid taking personal responsibility after all.

So what about you guys? How do you go about it? Have you lost contact with any close as a result of a crypto crash? Are you still invited to thanksgiving dinner?
