I am sure we are all aware of Ledger fiasco by now. People fearing for their crypto assets to be suddenly taken from them and bashing Ledger company. All the trust you build through the years can be broken like a house of cards. My mom used to say that what you struggle to build with your hands, you can quickly destroy with your butt.
The news about Ledger's update spread faster than wildfire. People who know little about cryptography (or anything related) started shouting bad stuff about Ledger pretty quickly.
Lets take a look at the opposite spectrum of emotions: Positivity.
In january/february this year, we saw BTC and alts to start to increase. The positivity on how we finally might be getting out of the bear market has started to spread. But in my opinion, compared to the fear, it spread much slower and people were/are still cautious about it. Mostly didn't rush in and start shouting how we are in bull now or that BTC will increase to 1M (oh wait, some did do that).
What I try to say is that in this community, people accept bad news quicker than good news. Market dumps happen in shorter intervals than pumps of the same volume. It is an evolutionary thing probably. You are more disadvantaged if something bad strikes you than not taking profit from good stuff that happens. Be aware of your emotions when investing or playing with crypto.
Stay critical to all types of news and stay safe from scammers my fellow degens!
