Under FASB's updated guidelines, specific crypto assets will now be valued at their current market price (fair value), with any increases or decreases in that value directly impacting the company's profit or loss each reporting period.
As a result, expect more companies to place Bitcoin in their Treasury Holdings. Companies hold assets (Treasury holdings) in the form of cash, cash equivalents, short-term investments, and more.
Currently, when reporting intangible assets (Crypto), these assets are usually valued at what they originally cost, minus any decreases in value (impairment). Impairment happens when the recorded value is higher than what the asset is actually worth or what it can be used for.
This will be another driving factor for companies to hold Bitcoin.
I hope this information helps you make smarter choices with Bitcoin.
