Evaluating a memecoin opportunity.

To preface: My pet went viral and became a fairly widespread meme a few years ago. I've been approached by a stranger via DMs about creating a memecoin based on said pet. I've never dabbled in crypto, so I have absolutely no idea if this is a legitimate thing worth my time/effort (knowing I'd have to learn about wallets, etc.).

Here's a portion of the pitch itself (edited to remove identifying info):

"...I'm currently involved in the development of a memecoin project that I believe could greatly benefit from a collaboration with [pet's name]. Our memecoin aims to tap into the vibrant crypto meme market, and we're excited about the potential it holds. We would be honored to have [pet's name] as the face of our memecoin. In exchange for their involvement, we're prepared to offer 2% of the memecoin's total supply. To put this into perspective, if we consider the success of Dogwifhat and its current market capitalization of over $3 billion, 2% of its supply would be worth more than $60 million. We believe [pet's name], being a much-loved internet pet, could potentially surpass even this level of engagement and value..."

This is not the first time someone's asked for permission to use my pet as the face of their memecoin (I usually say no), but it is the first time someone's offered me anything in return.

Unsurprisingly, the thought of having something worth millions of dollars (without having to invest any of my own money) piqued my interest, but I'm a pretty skeptical person who believes in the, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is," ethos.

Is this actually possible? Is this something worth engaging in conversation about, or something to shrug off and ignore?
