 | In our modern world of 24 hour news cycles and financial "journalist" attempting to be the first to get out a story without checking the facts it's important to not overreact and doing something you might regret. what happened today? a Fox Business "Journalist" tweeted out that Circle would have to stop issuing USDC, the internet went into full panic mode, some people sold crypto others retweeted the news one user even posted it on our beloved r/cc subreddit. Viewed by 369k and retweeted by some of the biggest crypto twitter accounts. she has since removed the tweet, deleted her account for thirty minutes, thought it through a bit and reactivated her twitter account tweeting out an apology tweet with a clarification that it false. Trusted sources? surely it must be someone at Circle or perhaps the SEC, right? NOPE, it was just some random twitter alpha male chad with 29k followers. So a supposed Business "journalist" at a "reputable" news agency like FOX used twitter as a source, surely she is the outlier and her colleagues are actual Journalist, right? Another FOX Business "Journalist" tweeted the same SCOOP and used Eleanor as his source. Charles has since retweeted the apology from Eleanor but as of me writing this sentence not removed his original tweet, to be fair maybe he doesn't know how to delete tweets with tech being so complicated and all. Multiple people sold out of fear Sure they probably didn't lose much except whatever transaction fees they had to pay but if they would have taken the time to confirm what they read they would have seen the tweet from USDC Chief Strategy Officer stating that it was fake news. So in conclusion assume everybody is an idiot in the crypto world and don't rush to sell any of your crypto before confirming that the news you are hearing is true.
