Cointelegraph shared an article explaining what happens but that article is a true masterpiece in sharing non-sense referring to a TG chat message was the source of the fake news and in the end Cointelegraph didn't take any responsibility for the harm they caused (Around $100 Million of liquidation).

They will always be remembered for spreading misinformation, market news manipulation and confusing their followers.
