They don't buy BTC itself, with its fundamentals, and use cases. Most of them don't even understand what they are buying or why.
They just saw an asset go up for years in the post-2008 crisis, and they want to be in on it.
Completely ignoring that bitcoin isn't the best tool to supply its demands.
Making them — the people buying the narrative, without understanding the tool — the demand needed to fulfil this “self-fulfilling prophecy”, in Satoshi's words.
