Did you ever get scammed in crypto? How did it happen and what you learned from it?

So many people got scammed in crypto, specially when you first entered the space. I only got scammed once in this space, when I invested in some shitcoin back in 2021, it was so hyped up project, they were doing crazy marketing for it, over 20k members in the tg group, I joined like a week before the project launch date, it was a fair launch, they were doing VC like every other day, it was so hyped up, so came the day of launch, chat was going crazy, like 100 messages a minute or more..devs said they are going to mute the chat as so many scammers posting phising links in the chat, They mute the chat and left message with countdown 10-1, I was ready with my 0.2 bnb and added contract to my wallet, was ready on pancakeswap to buy, once the timer ended I quickly bought 0.2bnb worth of that token, when I bought it was already over 2 mil marketcap, it quickly shot up to 20 mil, devs said they will unmute the chat in 10 minutes. I saw my 0.2 bnb turned into freaking 13 bnb+ ...I was so happy, I waited for them to unmute the chats but it didn't happen so I tried to sell but ....can't sell. I quickly check the group but it was gone..poof. that's the day I learned about honeypot.

Left that space for good, started spending more time on CC sub and learned a lot of stuff. I don't invest in shitcoins after that day. Great experience.

Now I have heard many different scams people fall into!! This post could be useful for many new people joining this space.

I know for sure that next bull these scams will be back in bulk, so it's better to get ourselves educated about them.

So as the title says, did you ever get scammed in crypto? How did it happen and what you learned from it?

What advice would you like to give for new people joining this space?
