Consultation for starting to develop in blockchain domain?

My background, I am a software engineer working in Tech for past 5 years.

I am looking for options to explore in the domain of blockchain/crypto. I have some basic understanding of the concepts but dont really have any experience of working in it.

Basically, my question is how/where to start. I am hoping to take up some online corses/projects to take up and explore.

I also wanted to know how easy is it to switch to some place in this domain. Given that I dont have any formal experience in this (and neither do I anticipate my current role to have anything in this domain), I wanted to know if working on these online courses/projects will help me switch to this industry? Any help or guidance is appreciated
