Can somebody please explain this to me

I own some crypto and I see it has quickly gone down by quite a bit.

I think I’ll finally give making some trades a go.

I sell my 3 crypto currencies for tether, expecting to go back in at a lower price.

I had between $3700-$4000 before this. After changing to tether I have $3000…. Effectively wiping out 1/4 of my account.. what the fuck.

What the fuck did I even do wrong I thought this would be how you trade?? Such expensive mistakes. Fuck my life

Any explanation on where I went wrong would be wonderful. Hopefully some crypto noobie reads this and it saves their precious funds and they don’t the mistakes I did.
